About Giving Better Lives: BCBA-Led Behavioral Health
Giving Better Lives is a BCBA-led behavioral health organization based in Pennsauken, NJ. We provide ABA therapy for children in our clinic and a person-centered Day Habilitation Program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Our mission
We help children learn, help adults grow into meaningful independent lives, and help families feel seen. Our services are broad in nature — but every plan is realistic and grounded in the assessed needs and capabilities of the individual.
Led by clinicians
Every program at GBL is designed and supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and delivered by trained Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs). We follow evidence-based practices and stay accountable to families through consistent, transparent progress reporting.

DyShea T. Upshaw, MA, BCBA
DyShea T. Upshaw brings over 25 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults with autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and complex behavioral and mental health needs. She holds a Master's Degree in Administration and a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice, along with four master's-level certifications, and is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
DyShea is driven by a simple belief: every person deserves the tools and support to live a full, meaningful life. Through Applied Behavior Analysis, she helps individuals build independence, strengthen relationships, and grow their confidence and sense of self-worth. Her work is rooted in the conviction that people with disabilities should never be limited by them — only supported in reaching their fullest potential.
That belief is the foundation of Giving Better Lives. Every program, every service, and every interaction is designed around one goal: helping individuals live the exceptional life they deserve.
Daijanae Upshaw, BA
Daijanae Upshaw is the operational backbone of Giving Better Lives. She is the person who keeps our programs running smoothly so families and staff can focus on what matters most. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Bethune-Cookman University, and brings that grounding in human behavior into every part of how she leads GBL's day-to-day operations.

"As a student moves from the school system into the adult service system, it is important to plan for their future by ascertaining their vision for life as an adult and assisting them in identifying services and supports that may be needed to reach that vision."
